Dear Jan I received Utah 3 days ago. I wanted some time to get to know her and smoke her a bit before I made my comments.Well I think I should simply say that Utah is exactly what I expected.Considering your reputation in the pipe community I expected a high grade pipe that would be exemplary in all ways a pipe could be. Utah has fullfilled my expectations quite well! The form is excellent the function is perfect and both are in harmony here! Utah has some long slowly arcing lines that lend an air of classiness to the pipe! Which make her a great (dress up)pipe. But she has the feel of an old freind at the same time. Utah has been given a spot in my rotation already due to the bowls coating, it works quiet well, and no taste! After just 4 bowls she smokes very nicely! Great job on this one Jan,great, great, job! I will take special care of her!I look foward to seeing more of your work, soon I hope! Kindest Regards Pat

I want to state that I really think this piece is beautiful. What I like about this piece is the way the rim of the bowl mimics the shape of the overall pipe. It reminds me of the geometric "fractal" phenomenon found in nature. Well done on this piece.
